Stab Magazine Lets ASP Judge Pritamo Ahrendt Off the Hook

In an interview with Stab Magazine, ASP Judge Pritamo Ahrendt discusses what he expects from Cloudbreak. Basically, Ahrendt says what many already know — that Cloudbreak is a heavy barrel that also offers some performance opportunties. Additionally, the type of contest depends on the size — real big and expect a barrel-off, smaller and expect airs etc.

The interviewer lobbed several softballs at the ASP judge and did not address any of the criticism that has been thrown at the judges, despite teasing it in their intro (Kelly vs. Mick at Bells). Then again, hard hitting is not exactly what Stab is known for.

CloudBreak, A Legitimate Tour Stop Says Joel Parkinson

Wait, what? The best surfers in the world should not be competing for the title of best surfer in the world in places like New York City and San Francisco?!?

Yes, that’s exactly what current #1 Joel Parkinson is suggesting in his latest Stab interview. Parkinson laments the loss of J-Bay from the Tour schedule, but says that adding Cloudbreak in the Fiji gives the ASP back its street cred as a surfer’s surfing event.

Jamie O’Brien ASP Fight: Keeps Fighting the Fight

I’m still not sure what Jamie O’Brien’s beef is with the ASP. But J.O.B. again tweeted something last night about the ASP present [sic] being a “great liar”. At this point, this may just be a “rebellious” surfer saying rebellious things to remain relevant.

Rebel or not, this J.O.B. trailer still gets my adrenaline going.
